Marshmallow notification bar issue

So I'm Keaton, I'm new to the community and a total Android fan, my concern is well I'll just explain. . .I have a Galaxy Note 5 and I just upgraded my phone to Marshmallow and I noticed when I get a notification from an app such as chompSMS or wish, it doesn't show the text next to it but just the app icon which I'm not used to. Is this part of the Marshmallow OS or is there something in the setting I need to configure? :/
