Marshmallow update and disappearing text notifications

So I just recently upgraded my verizon galaxy s6 to marshmallow. All my notifications seem to work fine except my texts. If I hear I got a text and I turn on my screen, the notification is already gone off of the lockscreen and notification bar. Or sometimes it will be there but if I don't clear it, it clears by itself when the screen turns off and back on. How can I fix this? Its driving me insane! I use chompsms but have the same issue with stock app. Never had this issue before the upgrade.

And actually as I was writing this I received a text, the LED blink a few times and stopped. When I turned on the screen there was no notification!

I would like to add it doesn't seem to happen every time which sort of makes it more frustrating.

Quite a few posts about the Verizon S6 Marshmallow update, for various issues. The first thing I usually suggest is a cache partition wipe: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-21095

I tried wiping the cache but that didn't work. Think ill just do a factory reset when I get home from work and see if that works. I cant handle it anymore
