Mate 20 or Pro for less display issues?

I was just about to purchase a Mate 20 or Pro but I've been a little put off by the multitudes of people complaining about the green screen and glue issues. Does it affect both phones? Is there a certain production number or model that I should get to minimize the issue? I'm in the USA and buying online so I don't have warranty and will only be able to return based on whatever policy the seller has on Amazon etc.

My wife has a mate 20 pro. had since december and screen is working fine. The phone itself is amazing and the camera/photos leave my mate 10 pro in their dust. I have read they have used 2 different manufacturers for the screens.

Erm, is it possible to ask the seller the version before buying?

Seems a lot don't know or don't want to know. I was hoping there was a production number or something that might tell us if it was an LG or boe display.

You cant tell without using 3rd party apps. Unless the seller tells you its a lcd replacement unit.

The Green Screen issue was identified late last year and so they fixed the LG panels, but as of this year they are now more BOE panel Mate 20 Pros vs LG, so you are more likely to get a good screen. However do check with the seller if they offer ones with BOE or LG Display panels.

This issue only affects the Mate 20 Pro not the regular Mate 20.
