Mate 20 Pro pictures comes out blurry

I've noticed that a lot of my pictures taken on the photo mode, rear facing camera - with or without AI on, sometimes turns out blurry. Just a simple group picture say at the table in a restaurant, faces are blurry. Granted the lighting is not outdoors, but I have never experienced so many blurry pictures using other phones in the past.

Have others experienced this? I also noticed that on almost all pictures taken, the "please keep phone still, sharpening picture" message usually occurs. Does that really do anything?

I am still on version 9.0.0.. EMUI 9.0.0

Did the updates resolve this?

You can try clearing data cache and force stop the camera app , also make sure lens not dirty and if this don't work try safe mode .

Yes I noticed the blurry pictures on mine. It's possible the lens are very sensitive to smudges etc on the lens cover on the back. At least that was my issue. I'm on EMUI 10 and it makes no difference.

I will make sure the lens are clean. It's a bummer that it's happening. But thank you for confirming that it happens with yours as well. But too bad the update didn't help it. I had thought maybe there was a lens protective cover on it, but it doesn't look like it.

Do others notice the same thing?

Also, do you Master AI on or off? I've tried with both on and off and can't tell which one is better
