Trying to order from the USA on Amazon UK and the price says £899 but when I check out it's only registering as £760? Am I missing something or is it really only $1000 to get this phone into the US.

Because your not in the UK /EU you probably won't have to pay Value added tax (vat) which is currently 20% I think?? Maybe someone else night be able to clarify. HTH David.

I'm in the UK and added it to my basket and when I went to the checkout to pay it still showed £899. Maybe they removed the VAT (UK tax included in the price) which is 20% and you only pay US tax? 20% off £899 takes you to £719 then delivery?

Yeah I didn't see any added tax having it shipped to the US. The fastest shipping option was only about £12 extra too.

Yes that is correct, they don't charge VAT if you have it shipped to the US.

I wouldn't say "only $1000" though, I was hesitant to pull the trigger on this since the phone will have a resale value in the US of like $600 in 4-5 months when the S10 comes out.

I do think I'm picking up an S10 if they have any pre-order promotions so that's some considerable $80-$100 per month to own the mate 20 pro vs like $20 a month of depreciation if I kept the Note 9.

I'll try to use CITI rewind on black friday and a UK mail forwarding service to get the free bundle (Watch GT and wireless charger) to sell them and sweeten the deal but neither CITI rewind or the free bundle are guaranteed.

Are there any extra import fees when ordering from Amazon UK?

Not sure about that... I ordered a Pixelbook from Amazon US and saved a fortune and the price I had in my basket was what I paid - it included all taxes and UK Vat. I did ring Amazon US to make sure but that was it, everything was included.
