Mate 9 is too underrated!

I replace my Samsung Note 4 with a Mate 9 in January. I honestly do not miss the S pen. I do miss the removable battery a bit, though. But this Mate 9 has been an outstanding phone for me.

I did discover that my Mate 9 was one that did not have the fast UFS 2.1 memory installed as it was advertised to have. Ran some memory benchmarks and it was noticably slower than it should have been with UFS 2.1 memory. I believe that Samsung had the same issue with the S8. Must have been an issue with supply of UFS 2.1 memory for a while.

Still a great phone.

Now that V30 was announced, and me using Fiio K1 DAC on the Mate 9 while still have amazing battery life, kinda makes the Mate 9 even better than all phones, it just offers the best battery life, great screen great performance, great cameras.

Mate 10 could be a real huge hitter.

I've been a big fan of LG since having the G5 and G6 but since getting the Huawei P10 just over a week ago I'm hooked and already started saving my pennies for the Mate 10 instead of the V30 or Note 8

i actually like LG and Samsung, and what they do with their android skin. And i love EMUI, granted the Mate 9 is my only experience with it, but it is great. Seems like it smashed LG And Samsung together and came out with something great

Yep and yep, honestly i see people at my job always charging their phones near end of the day and i never bring in my charger, hehe it just lasts that long even during heavy usage, i have no battery anxiety

Did the mate 9 come with emui 4 or emui 5 originally?

Should be EMUI 5

Ah ok. I didn't think that emui 5 was a huge difference from what Samsung or LG did. Emui 4 though was quite a bit different. Of course I also had the Honor 8 which could have a little bit different experience than the mate 9

Honor 8 was updated to EMUI 5. It was a really nice refresh UI

I really don't see the Mate 9 as "underrated" it may be "under-purchased"

In my opinion consumers avoid names like "Huawei (Whahwee)" just because...
Heck I never would have been drawn in if it weren't for my crappy honor 5X followed by the honor 8.

Huawei is OK I guess...yet frankly I really believe they could care less about sales numbers in the US.
The company is smart chasing down the markets that make money.
More power to 'em :)

US avoids names like Huawei cause it's an Chinese brands. Americans believe they're collecting their data and selling it to China. They can make tons of money in US, they need to make a huge push into it

American, at least most of them, will always be iSheeps xD

I think the Mate 9 is undersold and underrated, simply because Samsung Galaxy line exists, and in some areas the Mate 9 cost as much as GS7E, even more, and no one would look to it because it's not sammy, and therfore no chance it's a good phone, right???

I had my doubts too, but after i've been with the Mate 9, tried all newest flagship, gotta said that the Mate 9 is the best phone atm, some weak points can be addreseed with the Mate 10 and we all can be happy :)

The problem is that they hear Chinese brands and think some cheap Chinese knockoff. Also the lack of brand recognition in the USA doesn't help

It takes time to build up a brand. In 2009 Samsung only had 3% of the smartphone market share. They weren't even top three back then.

Apple didn't even make a smartphone before 2007... They were able to build up their following quickly. Huawei is also building up their following quickly but not there yet, and their support isn't close to Apple or even Samsung level yet. Weak support is fine for bargain pricing, but going to near flagship pricing... That becomes difficult.

So who underrates the Mate 9?

I don't recall ever reading any review that rated the phone low.
Seems to me anyone who has or had the Mate 9 was mostly satisfied.

True, Huawei grows very fast, but it will take quite a good time for them to penetrate the US market, and dethrone apple, heck not dethrone but to become a major rival.

As for Mate 9 is underrated, i mainly meant by that, that it's undersold primary because the name isn't dominating as Samsung, as a result, given the price range of the device, it doesn't sell very good and those who are tech savy like us, will choose the best device that fits us, and i bet most of us will go for the Mate 9.

So far, all the 2017 flagship are not an upgrade over the M9, even downgrade at some regards
