Max Micro SD card used

Can anyone tell me what is the max micro sd card (storage wise 8,16,32 gb) they have used with Skyrocket? The specs for Skyrocket say that the storage can be doubled to 32 GB by using a 16 GB card, does Skyrocket works with 32GB, I see that there are 64GB cards as well, does anyone think that skyrocket can work with 64GB card as well? I know the bigger the contents of card the slower will be the time load stuff on the phone, just wondering how far can we go with Skyrocket in terms of sc cards' storage.

I have a 32 gig formatted its about 29gig. roomer has it that the Sandisk 64 works too but i haven't gotten my hand on one yet. Apparently if you reformat the 64gig card with fat32 it will work.

The big question is WHY would you need that much space? I get that it's just nice to have the free space.. But I'm just fine with an 8gb card. With the capability to stream music and movies, i don't need a huge amount of storage.. Just save yourself the extra money and stick with an 8gb card.

I use 16, the same one i've been using for 5 years already with my blackberries and Moto Atrix and it's more than enough for me

well at $1 a gig i think the 32 gig card is worth the money. I work in a building with a faraday cage surrounding my workspace so i cant stream music to the phone and even if i could i don't want to waste my bandwidth on music when i can just store it on my phone.

I guess that I should have looked into this a bit more... I read almost everywhere & got the impression that 16 was the Max... for the little extra, I would have definitely bought the 32 Gig!

Yep, 32 Gig works fine and depending on where you go, can be had for a good price.

32 gig, I have about 20 gigs of music on the card (since my Skyrocket is my Ipod) and I have a bunch of space for HD video when I record.

Great post. But I have another question...what about the "class"? I see micro SD cards with different classes. Some class 2, 4,6, and even 10. What does this all mean? Which ones can I use in my Skyrocket?

I got lucky and found a SanDisk 32GB for $30 at Staples a couple of weeks ago. I believe that 32GB is the max that the SR can handle, but I could be wrong. Not sure why you would need even 32GB, I just bought mine because it was so inexpensive.

The higher the class, the faster the writing speed.

The higher class is suppose to mean that it is faster but in actuality this isnt the case. Most manufactures use the higher number to try and get more money but in my research what i have found is that a class 4 is plenty fast for a cell phone. If you are using one of those very high end camera then you may want a class 6 or 10 card.

Most of the class 6 and 10 cards are only that fast with larger files but are not all that fast with smaller files.

If all you are going to do is use it to hold music and movies like me there is no need to go faster then a class 4.

I got class 4 from Amazon at almost the same price as some other sellers were selling class 2
