Dear all,
I am trying to establish the max SD card I can use in my Tablet. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 (Wi-Fi) bought in the UK.
The full specs state 128G (https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...2-9-7-t813%2FSM-T813NZKEBTU%2F&token=q0ty3QwZ) but that is simply not true.
I am currently using a 256G Samsung Evo Plus card (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product...ag=hawk-future-21&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU6368823)
Funnily, the Samsung US website reports something different from the UK one (https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...duct%2Fgalaxy-tab-s2-9-7-wi-fi&token=KT2OwTXD), namely:"External Memory/microSD™ Capacity Up to 400GB with a microSD™, up to 128GB"
I would like to expand from 256 to 400 (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product...ag=hawk-future-21&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU6368823) but ideally I have some reassurance that it will actually work in my device.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Rob

The stated limit is whatever was available at the time and what was tested with the device. The file format allows for way more than that, so it'll actually take any modern card. Just be aware of the file transfer speed limits of the tablet and you should be OK.

The tablet will support any microSDXC card, and I think the technology has a max capacity of 2Tb despite the fact no one has actually been able to manufacture one with that capacity.

Samsung probably listed the highest storage card they made at the time.

Thank you so much Spook. I am very grateful. R u able to give me a quick idea about what to look at in terms of "speed limits"?
In any case thank you again!

No idea what the exact specs or the card reader are on this tablet, but it was tested with Class 10/UH3 cards, so anything at that speed will be OK. If you buy a card in the future that boasts higher speeds, your tablet will most likely not be able to take full advantage of those speeds (but will still read them, you could have just gotten a cheaper card with a lower speed rating that works for you).
