Maximum DTR for phone and SDHC question

Can anyone give me a specs page for the Max DTR for the SDHC card on a Samsung Ultra Transform?
I'm trying to debate if a Class 2,4,6 or 10 is needed. If the phone is not fast enough, no point in getting a class 10.

Also, Can anyone tell me if a 16GB is ok to have instead of a 32GB? How fast does the SDHC card fill up. This would obviously be based on my own usage, but any input would be helpful.

I can't find the specs specifically, but in almost every test I've seen the Class 10 has some benefits in certain cases.

If you aren't going to be doing a lot of data transfer then it won't matter. If all you're going to do is take pictures and videos then honestly it probably won't matter that much. Are you going to move apps to the SD card? Some people say that makes it a difference in performance.

Are you going to use it for music playback and be transferring large amounts of music to your SD card? And changing it frequently? Then the faster transfer speed will save you a lot of time when doing the transfers. If you're just going to dump a ton of music on it and never change it then it probably won't matter.

I always buy the fastest I can even if I think I won't use the speed right now in case my use case changes in the future.

Good points. This will be my first android phone, so I was cautious on going with the best right away and try to save some money.

Like Kevin said, depends on what you plan on doing. I have played 720p movies off of a class 2 card with 0 stutter.

Another thing to consider, the class rating system is very poorly regulated. My class 2 sandisk was faster than my class 6 lexar. Buying a good brand is at least as important as class rating imho.

Finally, understand that class ratings are for constant throughput. Not many things do that. A lot of what you will be doing if you have a lot of apps installed to the SD card (probably the point where sdcard speed matters most), they will primarily be doing lots of random reads and writes to things such as databases, rather than a long drawn out read or write. High constant speeds do not necessarily equate to good random performance.

My best advice, buy a good brand (I'm partial to sandisk), and a class 4-6 should easily be enough for anything you want. I feel class 10 is far past the point of diminishing returns.
