So I had been running cyanogen mod on my Hero for a good few weeks, maybe over a month, when it just completely shut off and stopped working when I was playing on the lock screen (I was assigning gestures to my lock screen and testing it out). The light still works for when I charge it and it even turned green after a while, indicating that it had over 90% battery. That's about all that works on it. I have insurance and could take it in to get fixed, but I'm afraid I've voided my that whole deal. I also can't tell if my power button works because if you've ever owned a Sprint Hero, the buttons often get mashed in and lose their click.

Does the phone turn on at all? Pull the battery, re-insert it, hold home+power. See if the recovery loads and from their you can restore a backup, if you made one, or try rebooting.
