Maybe I'm missing something. Problem editing contacts.

Forgive my stupidity on this issue, but I cant seem to find a way to delete a contact out of my "all contacts" list. It's been a while since I was on android (last phone was a iphone 4s, and last android was an evo 4G), and this is my first nexus device. Is there a way to edit my contacts on the phone or does it have to be done somewhere else?

Thanks!

Open the People app, tap the contact, tap the menu icon at top right of screen, tap Delete.

The odd thing is I have way more contact in my "all contact" list then I do in the people app. When I go to the phone, push the menu overflow button, and then show all contacts I see all these "extra" people I want to get rid of. I think these are contacts that were on my old (2 years ago) phone that got synced to my google account.

Your tip on going to the people app worked there.

Thanks

If you are doing a one time cleanup, it may be easier/faster to do that in Gmail instead (depending on number of contacts). On your computer, go to gmail and then to contacts. Cleanup there, and that will get synced to your phone.

Open the People app, tap the menu icon at bottom right, tap Contacts to display, tap All contacts.
