I used Lookout on my Galaxy s5, my first Android phone, as I knew nothing about the Android OS. After a little education, I realized I didn't need the protection & removed Lookout.

Everything these apps try to do has a better equivalent baked into Android these days through things like play protect and find my device. They really are just bloat.

Well then fuzzy, you may ask, if these apps are useless, why does Samsung pre-install McAfee and try to get get you to subscribe? That's because Samsung loves money and does not respect it's customers!

This is also true of Windows 10, by the way. I spent years trying to convince people to install basic security software, and now years trying to convince them to get rid of it

None. Why? Because you can't install a virus app on your phone without specifically approving the install. That's why malware programmers try to trick you into installing their products. Don't fall for it.
