Me again! Ooh eck, how do I transfer pics to Picasa software on my laptop please?

Hi again

I have Picasa photo storage / editing software on my PC and use it for transferring pics directly from my camera and previous mobile phones, and really hope that there's a way of uploading pics from the Moto G directly to my laptop with Picasa (I hope I'm making sense!)

By fiddling around, I have just uploaded photos from my phone to external Picasa, and now have to find where they've gone as I've no idea about doing things this way

I'm sure I'm 'going around the houses' when there's a quicker more direct way, but I'm blonde and middle aged! So help is needed again please

I have managed to bring over the external Picasa album to my laptop Picasa album, but this seems a crazy longwinded way to do things.
I suppose I just need to know the quickest way how to download photos to my laptop and then I can tinker with them later - Thanks again!

I don't have a Moto G, so am not sure if this will work, but with most phones you have a USB cable for your charger that can be disconnected from the wall charger unit and plugged into a USB port on your computer with the phone at the other end of the cable. If you're lucky, the computer will eventually recognize the phone and you can use your computer's file system to copy the image files from your phone to the computer. Someone who knows how the Moto G works (which I don't) will hopefully be able to tell you if there's anything special you need to do in the phone settings for the USB connection in order to do this.

I connected the USB cable when I began trying (same as when I transfer pics from my Lumix camera) but my laptop doesn't show a pop up or any other recognition, so I'm stumped as to how to transfer files direct from the phone....

I am now getting somewhere

In the phone settings, the 'USB computer connection' was set as 'camera' when it should have been 'Media device' - I can now see my phone and its files in Windows Explorer. Now the only problem left is that my photos are not in the 'Pictures' folder (my daughter set all pics to go to 'gallery' in the phone, so I would have thought that the pics would been stored in the 'pictures' folder?)

What an exciting New Years Eve I'm having!

Camera photos are located in the DCIM folder.

You should be easily able to retrieve photos from Picasa: https://support.google.com/picasa/answer/39513?hl=en

You can transfer files wirelessly as well, although its not as convenient or as fast, but AirDroid is one such app.
