Nothing at all I did the factory reset on the watch and nothing still works on the watch when it comes to media controller. All I can still control is volume

U have the neo and I have the G2.

You have the Note 3 and I have the Note 2.

Perhaps its an issue with compatibility between the different pairs.

You might want to call samsung for support and lodge a complaint about the sw if they can't resolve it. Perhaps they need to add it to their list of issues for the next OS release.

Strangely enough, when I fire up Milk, the correct songs display. ie, they override the previous Media Controller's display of a song that played during the last time I ran Play Music on my phone.

Switching Milk off and firing up Pandora. Same issue as before: it shows the last Milk song...

Seems it doesn't do well with Pandora. I wonder if Samsung will point their finger at Pandora, and Pandora, back at Samsung? :)

On the bright side, I can control the volume of Netflix...

Unsurprisingly my wife's note 2 and her watch exhibit the same issues with Media Controller.

I have no idea if this is useful info, but I have the G2 and the Note 3 (VZW). I have no trouble with media controller. Works awesome. I can use Samsung music player, leave it playing, open Play Music, as the music changes on the phone, the new album art appears on the G2. Following same steps it proceeds seamlessly to Milk and back through the others again.

Oh man, this is WEIRD. As I previously noted, I'm having issues with the media controller (MC), so I've been monkeying around with it. I ended the Google Play Music app 3 times (Task manager> END) and each time, by hitting play on the MC, it restarted the music through Play Music.

Now here comes the really weird thing: the fourth time I ended Play Music, some of my music started up when I hit PLAY on the MC, and I (for the first time) got album art, AND the program that is now being controlled on my phone is "Music" which has an icon that has a blue outer ring, and inner white ring, blue triangle, and a musical note on the right side.

I then started Pandora and just like with Play Music, "Music" songs still show (both title and album art, unlike Play Music) on the MC. Ending Music doesn't help. The skip button will jump Pandora to the next song, but I can't get MC to stop showing the last song played through either the Music or Play Music apps.

I suspect that "Music" is a Samsung app, as I can't find it in the Play Store.

CONFUSED!!!!

I have same problems.

Gear Fit and Note 2 - music from Gear fit can not be controlled on phone. Only Volume buttons works.

I contact Samsung service - no correct answer.

I contact local provider of Samsung - no idea.

I contact phone provider - nothing.

I believe that something is in phone - I hope.

I had the same issue with my G2 and Galaxy S4.. Where I could only control volume and not the media.. But I finally figured out how to fix the problem..
On the home clock face of G2 tap the screen for 3 seconds with 2 fingers.. It will open a list of apps running on ur watch.. Now close all apps running on ur smartwatch.. Then open the media controller app and it will start working.. I was able to switch songs.. I guess too many apps were running on the smartwatch and hence didn't work.

i as well am having these same issues. the first couple times i use Media Controller, it works ok with Google Play Music and stock Music app then it gives up and only allows volume control. i have the Samsung Gear 2 R380 and the Samsung Galaxy S5 from AT&T. i believe its an issue with one of the Provider apps embedded in the Gear app. Things like goproviders. i know that i dont usually have any issues with S Voice, and it also has an svoiceprovider app associated with that too.

I had the issue with Note 2 and Gear S. Sometimes it controlled the media, often only the volume. Even reset both devices and still no control. I used the 2 finger suggestion, closed the music player on the Gear S and it suddenly worked. Thanks.
