Media player and streaming

I'm streaming to my tv using windows media player 11, at random times the video will freeze but the time on the video info panel atill shows it playing. The only way to continue playing the video I have to back out and select the video. It puts me right where I left off but it's frustrating. I have a wireless n router streaming from an external hd on my laptop to my wired google tv.

An I missing a setting? It seems like it does this when it catches up with the buffering but I could be wrong.

Any help would be appreciated
