'Media Server' draining my battery!

Hey guys,

When I woke up this morning, I checked my phone (100% charge) and took it off charge and turned the screen off. I checked again 2 hours later, my battery was down to 60%! 'Media Server' is taking up 74% of my battery drainage. I googled the issue and people are talking about music and videos on the phone causing issues - but I don't have any music or videos on my phone. Google play music sync is also off.

Yesterday I played a few games (Temple Run, Jetpack Joyride and Pou... yeah, judge me, I love pou) pre-charge but that's about it. I'm not convinced it's the apps causing the drainage because I've googled every app I downloaded next to 'battery' (I know, such intense research) and no result suggests any of those apps should cause such huge battery drainage.I've stopped all multitasking now so I guess that might have been the issue, but anyone else know what the issue could be aside from that?

Any one else having this issue?

Edit: Now installing 4.2.2. That might fix it!

For what it's worth - I haven't had any weird horror sessions with media server since the 4.2.2 update. So far so good. :-X

Do you have any pictures or videos in your gallery? If there is a bad one in there then the chew up battery. If all else fails then factory reset. And hope your not using a task killer app

I got the app 'Pou' yesterday. And the same thing happened to me.. It was on 60 percent one minute, I looked at it a few hours later and it was dead.
I would have to say that Pou is the answer.. though I haven't tried any of the other games

It's definitely Pou! Me and my girlfriend installed it and both got the problem. Now that the app is gone, it's back to normal.

It's Pou I took my phone to Verizon and the guy helping me told me it was draining my battery like crazy and was even shocked at how bad it was draining it so he uninstalled it for me. My son and I love Pou but it's one or the other Pou or battery life. Pou had to go. The guy at Verizon said a lot of apps have glitches and Pou is clearly one of them so all I can say at this point is that Pou was fun while it lasted, but it had to go! Goodbye, Pou :(
