Media Sync nearly useless

I've been having the same problem as the OP. Sometimes everything will show up if I use the media sync option, other times, only some folders will show. I cant even get to my pic folder so I just use the usb option instead.

I think this is a bug, because sometime mine works and other times it doesnt

Media transfers do not look at metadata or any other file content. It just moves files from point A to point B (as far as I am aware). I can't comment on "ITunes", since that proprietary stuff doesn't work under Linux I have never used it (and wouldn't use it, even if it did).

So let me get this straight....MTP was designed specifically for handling Media files, but it does not inherently (or possibly at all) support metadata? Then while using MTP, any organization you may have done to your files is rendered 100% useless? Especially when trying to hook up to a car's media display?

i am a linux user, and for me the best solution was to root the phone and install Easy UMS on it.
This makes the phone including the external SD card look like a normal usb key to any operating system.
Solutions available on xda-developers forum.
