Hi all! You guys have helped me before, and I'm turning to you again ...

A couple of days ago I noticed that my phone wasn't ringing for calls, and wasn't chiming for texts. I hit my volume-up button, thinking my volume was low, and noticed that my media volume was completely off. There is a "note" symbol on the slider bar that appears when you hit a volume key, with a slash through it. I tried repeatedly hitting the volume-up button. I tried hitting that little note symbol. I went into settings and tried to slide the volume up. I told Assistant to turn on, and again to turn up, the media volume. Nada. My call, and alarm volume still work, and it says that my ring volume is on, but my phone doesn't ring, so I don't know what that's all about.

I'm sort of at a loss for what to do next ... any suggestions? Thanks!!

Does it do the same thing in Safe mode? (I'm assuming you've already tried a restart.)

Yuppers, I've restarted a number of times! I've not tried safe mode ... I tried looking it up in settings, but nothing showed up. I remember someone posting instructions for it one time, but I don't remember how to do it. Help, please?

Hey ... I think I've figured it out, sort of! It looks like Do Not Disturb was not turning off in the morning, or got set to be on all of the time? Anyway, I turned it off, checked volume settings and saw media volume was back on, called myself and the phone RANG! Now I think I will cancel all of my DND events and redo them. Hopefully that's IT! What a relief after stewing over this for a couple of days! Thanks all!

Great you nailed i down, Cynthia!
Whenever I'm listening to my Bluetooth wireless headset I always set DND.
The only phone calls that can come through are the Contacts I've "starred".
And all the other winking and blinking cacophony doesn't interrupt my music.

And of course when I go to bed, DND get's set!

I absolutely love DND! It's such a pain to have to remember to turn off your volume, and then HOPEFULLY remember to turn it back ON 2 or 3 times a day. Just preset several rules and forget it! (Unless, of course, something screws UP!!)
