I have had problems on and off with this since I moved from my G2 to my G4. Things went away after a day with my initial setup. Now a week later it starts again. 3 hour battery life and CPU at 168 degrees. It is Hot to hold! It would make a great hand warmer in the winter, but its now summer. I've tried Googling this but no help. Does anyone have any ideas to stop this damned runaway program?

I know some people had it caused by corrupt files too. Did you move a lot of music to the phone?

Do you have your Google syncing turned on such that you're constantly syncing everything between your phone and Google Drive, photos, music, contacts, etc. ?

I did move music to the phone directly from your G2. I guess I can remove it. I do have synch on, but turning it off doesn't help.

Thanks for everyone's help. I think I have it resolved again. There was a relevant posting in the LG G3 group that seems to have stopped things. I wasn't able to do step 4 because I'm not rooted. Briefly: 1 Clear media storage data, Settings>Applications>Media Storage >clear data, force stop and reboot. 2 Remove unwanted media files. Delete all files In DCIM/.thumbnails. Do it internal and on SD card.

There were more steps but this cleared things. It immediately discovered all the music files and once I viewed the pictures added back the thumbnails. It is running cool with normal battery usage. So, since I never removed any music or pictures, it's an android issue, not a corrupt file.
