Melody goes off like alarm and won't quit

It’s midnight and my S6 is in the other room. My wife wakes me saying “your phone is going off!” I go in and the phone is playing “a musical melody”, not a song, but a melody. I can't shut it off. I look for open apps and close all, it keeps playing. I check notification settings through Apps, nothing. I can't figure out why this is happening. Last night it was midnight and 4:00AM. Last week it happened two nights (1 time each). HELP!

I'd assume there's nothing on thr screen or on the notification drawer?

You are correct. I can hit the menu, go to apps, etc., just like nothing is wrong..but it won't stop until I reboot.

Welcome to Android Central! Do you have a lot of music files saved locally on the phone? If not, go to My Files and look for audio files there -- can you find any that correspond to that melody?

And this is a longshot, but does this happen if NFC is turned off?

Well same thing has been happening to me....3 times so far within last 3 weeks....all 3 middle of night to the point it wakes me up....nothing appears in open tasks and i have to lower media volume in order for it to end. No idea what's causing it. At first i thought it was a game as i have a 4 year old who downloads everything on my phone. I went through and deleted most but just happened again last night. Im lost.
