memo or note pad function

Is there a memo or note pad function somewhere on the moto g as I am struggling to find one?

Install Google Keep. It's excellent, and syncs with your Google account in the cloud automatically. You can access it on the web as well at keep.google.com.

Once again, thanks for the good advice and quick response. I should have asked for help via this forum before I wasted time trawling through the phone and the instructions with no luck.
