memopad hd 7 stuck

i was downloading games when i noticed a notification to update the system. it's stuck at the installing system update so i cant factory reset. is there a recovery mode.

Welcome to Android Central! Usually, if you hold the Power button down long enough, the device will power off. Then turn it back on, and it should reboot.

Here's a video showing the procedure to boot into Recovery. There's no sound, but the poster explains everything in a comment.

when i got up this morning it was dead. it wont turn on and doesn't seem to be charging.

How long did you hold the power button down for? Sometimes you have to hold out for 15 seconds or so.

I held it for almost a whole minute. It does nothing. I've tried recovery mode but that doesn't work either; and the battery seemed to be connected properly..

Hmm. It might be in a deep sleep mode, which I've read about with the Nexus 7. When you were pressing the Power button, was it plugged in? If not, try it again with it plugged into a wall outlet. If that doesn't work, leave it plugged into a wall outlet overnight without disturbing it, then try again.

I have two of these memo pads and one I have sent in for repairs 4 times for this issue and now I am sending in the other one. ASUS will never tell me the problem or offer a replacement. Terrible customer service!
