Memory full but not really

[Android Central Question]

Hello!
My phone has 3.5GB of 8GB used internal memory and 5.42GB of 14.63GB used of external memory.
The thing is, I can even update my apps because it always asks me to free up some space even when I only need about 120MB...
Plus I set the option to use the external memory first but it always uses the internal one... Can you help me with that?

Setting the external SD card as the default storage location is only for downloaded files -- not for app installation. Are you saying that downloaded files still go to Internal Storage by default?
