memory issues and how to transfer pics to computer...

hi, sorry if these are stupid questions, I have no idea about phones!

i have a galaxy ace, its about 6 weeks old and keep getting messages saying low storage and memory low. I took it to a phone shop today and asked if putting in a bigger SD card would help but they said it wouldnt because you cant transfer anything else off the phones internal memory to the SD. Im a bit stuck now as I cant receive texts as its saying theres no space.

The only apps I have downloaded are facebook and ebay (which are both on the SD card), barclays banking, whatsapp and yahoo email.
I had loads of apps on my old Iphone and now this one is full with only these 5. Forget games and fun apps!
Is there a way of deleting all of these useless apps already installed on the phone that I dont want? I have no idea what most of them do and would rather not have them!
I usually take a lot of pics and videos of my daughter on my phone and it looks like this wont be possible now.

This leads on to my next question. How do I get videos and photos onto my laptop? Is it just a simple thing like getting a USB cable and dragging files to a folder on the laptop?

And yes, typically you can drag and drop files to and from another computer via USB. Connecting the device for the first time should automatically install the needed drivers, but if not let us know and we can help you through it.

thanks, ive read through the link but i think my phone is just too basic to do some of the things on there :-(
the thing i thought which might help is to move my photos to the micro CD card but cant see a way of doing this, ive gone into the camera and the gallery app settings but no option to default it to save to SD card. anyone know how to do this?
