Menu, Home, Back Search Time Out

So we all know what is happening here. The keys light up for a few seconds, and then, for some idiotic reason, they black out, even though the main screen is stil lit up.

Has anyone smarter than me figured out a way to tie these in with the main screen? Or just increase the time out value? There must be a config file somewhere but I'm not savvy enough to know where to look for it and what to massage.

Wish I knew, been trying to find that out myself in this forum plus from the xda forum but no luck.. There may not be a way to change the timing on them. If I find anything I'll post it here.
