Message background option dissappeared after oreo update

Please help

I've got a galaxy s7 active and I can't figure out how to change the background and the text bubble color on the messages app! There used to be an option for "backgrounds" but it dissappeared after the oreo update. I've reset my phone and wiped the cache partition and nothing. I also would like to avoid using a 3rd party messaging app.

Hi. If you have the s7 active via ATT you are still on Nougat. Oreo has not been released for us yet.
There was an update a few weeks back for the messaging app which is probably what you are now seeing. Unfortunately, with the update for the messaging app, they did away with some options.

Thank you... I saw the Title to her post and I thought "What - how did I miss that?" I mean, mine has been off-line and in a box since I got my Note 8 but I still pop in here regularly to keep an eye on things... I hadn't heard any rumors!
