Message content won't show on lock screen after latest update on S7

[AC Question]

After downloading the most recent update for Galaxy S7 (not edge) whenever I receive a text message the lock screen just shows "Messages New Message" I have been through all the lock screen settings and they all show that for messages it is set as "show content" but I still am not seeing the sender or any content on my lock screen. How do I fix this?

Did you go into settings, applications, messenger?

In addition to the show content setting go into the settings in the messages app and tap on notifications and make sure preview message is on. If it is on turn it off and then on again.
