Message Sent From a Blackberry device doesn't appear exactly as it's suppose to on Android device

Hi,
I've been having this issue of whenever a blackberry user sends me a message be it on whattsapp, bbm or any other messenger, it doesn't appear correctly or as supposed to on my android device; it appears with some annoying unreadable characters in-between the letters of the message rather making the message hard to read. I've googled to see if I can find solution to this annoying issue but found non.
Please can anyone help me with a solution to this?

tell the sender to get out of the stone age and upgrade his/her device to Android or iPhone.
