Hello everyone. The Thunderbolt is my first smartphone and I am brand new to this forum so I want to apologize ahead of time of this is in the wrong section or an already asked question. I am just in the need for some help!

I send hundreds of texts a day. I am using the stock message widget. Sometimes it will work really well and other times the widget will come up blank, take minutes to load, and most of the time ends up with a force close. This occurs a lot of times when I reply to a message and go back to open up another message it will be really slow and lots of time force close.

I am wondering is there anyone else experiencing this issue and if there is anyone who might know a solution to this.

I enjoy the layout of the stock app so I do not want to use a third party SMS App. Thanks in advance!!

First time Android user as well. This seems to be quite a bit of a problem as three other Tbolt users I know have stated the same issue. Don't have a fix. Keep hearing Handcent is the way to go...

try : settings-applications-manage applications-All- Messages- Clear data and or clear cache

might help. also you might try opening up the message app. hit menu-settings and set a limit for saving messages. 200 or less I would say. having to many messages saved could cause some problems.

good luck.

Glad to know that I am not the only user with this issue.
Thanks Edwill86 for the advice. I will try out your suggestion. I will try this and post an update if this has solved this issue or not.

UPDATE:
Anyone that may have been having the same problem that I mentioned in my first post, try the suggestion that Edwill86 made. It fixed my problem and I am able to send and receive and switch between conversations smoothly without it forcing close once.

Thanks for solving my issue. I am now able to enjoy my new phone even more!
