Messages App slower after 2.2 update?

Ever since the 2.2 Update, the entire Messages app for me has been laggy.

Starting the Messages app from the home screen is SLOW, but switching from one conversation to another is terribly slow as well. For a few conversations, I do have 1000+ messages each.

But the kicker is that while I was on 2.1 (as shipped, never updated to 1.4x) I had no slowness and lag with opening the Messages app, and switching between various conversations.

Anyone else notice degradation in performance for this app?

What fixed it for me was removing the newest update for the Facebook app, and removing the account it added to the Accounts/Sync. According to tests and numerous reports, and even my own testing. The newest Facebook app has a bad memory leak.
