Messages for web not giving me a QR code to scan so that I can connect my phone

Recently I had to reset my phone (OG Pixel on Pie) and upon trying to connect back to messages for web, I open the QR scanner in the messages app to scan the code from the web portal. But the messages for web on my browser no longer displays a QR code for me to scan and connect. So now, it just shows "connecting" for a few seconds every time, and then just a message saying "not connected to phone".

So how do I connect my phone to messages for web... if it doesn't even give me a QR code to scan as the only way to connect?

On your Android app, tap the Messages for Web and make sure that there are no signed in computers. You might have to clear the browser's cache/cookies though for it to re-spawn the QR code.

Press F11 (Full Screen in your browser) some times the QR code is hidden because the size of the screen.

I just had this same issue after my phone forced a reset on me. Go to the messages.andorid app. There will be a 3 dot symbol next to messages and hit log out. It should give you the QR code again so you can use messages.andorid once more. Hope this, or someone elses answer, has helped you! :)
