Messages for web stopped working for me today

I can't get into Messages for Web today. From Chrome and other browsers, the normal sequence of having the phone read a QR code on the computer screen, and then I'm synced, is not working, and hasn't for the five hours since I got online today.

Other than "keep trying," any suggestions of what to do?
 
The past two days I get the prompt on my Chromebook to "pair with messages" but when I click it, the Web Messages app opens and it's already synced. Possibly some weird issue on Google's server side?
 
Just opened my Chromebook, where I have messages for web set up, and all send to be working as usual.
 
If you open your Messages app, tap the menu button and select Messages for Web, does your computer show up there? If so, remove it from the list and try re-adding.

For me, this just started a few days ago and the message appears randomly. That's what makes me think that sometimes there are glitches on Google's end. But I also agree with the idea to un-sync from the phone and then try to re-pair / re-sync.
