Messages Notification on Oreo

Thanks Bitterman. I was gonna try Message+ when I got to work. That should solve the issue for text messages. Just switch text apps from the blue & white Android Messages app to the red & white Verizon Message+ app. Both are installed on our phones. That's not gonna help unread emails, but it's a start.

Did a little more testing. I use several email apps rather than have everything in one app. The Gmail, Outlook, and Yahoo apps lost the notification dot when dismissed from the lock screen. I use Maildroid Pro for my POP mail accounts and that still shows a message count after dismissing from the lock screen....Maildroid never shows a notification dot even though that option is turned on in the app settings.

Seems to only affect apps that rely on the dot instead of an actual message number.

Has anybody tried disabling the dot for a specific app to see what happens?

You do realize you're in the Moto Z Droid forum right? Samsung isn't going to help you with a Moto phone .

i thought this was a sansung forum? i dont have a moto phone :(
It's a Moto Z Force thread. At the top of the screen (if using Tapatalk) it let's you know which sub-forum the thread is in.

That could explain why some of the suggestions haven't worked. Different settings between different phone models.
