Messages+ Stopped Working

I've restarted my phone and cleared the partition cache...x2 I just knew the latter would work Any other ideas. Verizon.

Same thing here... probably a bad update of the app.

I haven't. I'll look into Google Messages. Thank you. I wondered if it might be a glitch on Verizon's end. Hopefully it is. I also removed the app and reinstalled. I figured out that I'm able to get into the app by long pressing and choosing compose message. But I can't get to the screen to disable to silly icons that pop up on the screen now that I've reinstalled
This has been the most awesome phone and my first problem I've encountered.

Oh, I didn't realize what my husband uses is "Google Messages". I had taken it off my phone (like Messages+ SO much better) but I guess I'll install it again till Verizon's app is fixed.

Google Play Store says Messages is still installed. It's not in the app drawer but was able to find it by going into Settings/Apps. Then I could set it as default and use it by voice texting "send a text". I can't figure out how to get the app icon to appear in the app drawer. Can someone help please?

Who would have guessed you can click on the "Installed" button in GPS and it will install again? Certainly not I. Messages icon is back in the app drawer. This will work till Verizon get's Messages+ working again (if it IS on their end).

Can you just install a prior version of message+ to see if that will work? Apk mirror has various versions.

I had to clear data and cache on my N9 to get this app working again this morning. No lost messages, but had to re-do all my customizations. Worth it to get this app working again, though. It's my favorite (when it's working!).

I just did this. I don't remember how I did it, lol, but try this. Open your app drawer. In the search box at the top, type in Messages+ then touch and hold it and see if you can add it to your home screen.

I've been using Google Messages as well, but I've decided to give Messages+ a try. So far I like what I see.

In the future, if you cannot find an app on home screen or in app drawer, try searching for it in the app drawer. Once found, drag it to a home screen.

Nope, everything was still there. And it is working fine today. Of course, Verizon decided to do an update while I'm in the process of having Internet set up at a new house, so I don't have WiFi.

Messages+ is working again. I don't think it was anything I did but all is well. Thanks for all the advice/comments.
