Messaging app on moto e not showing notification

[AC Question]

My moto e suddenly stopped showing notification for messaging app which is pre-installed. Under settings all apps and messaging show notifications has been checked right and even inside messaging settings notification has been enabled.
Please help me regarding the issue...
I am in very much need of it...

You may need to tell us the name or your messenger app. On my phone for example it's Messenger+ 6.4.7 which comes from Verizon. Also some messenger apps like Facebook like to take over your IM. Also the typical first fix is to clear the cache and reboot the phone.
