Messaging Contact name in blue instead of white

I recently deleted an emergency weather text from my phone that was blue, and now one of my contacts name is in blue instead of white which is the color It's supposed to be.

I don't want to screen shot it because of the people on my contacts privacy, but I know someone posted about this about a week ago but I cannot find the thread

Is this a bug? Has anyone else come across this issue? Anyway to change their name back to white?

Thx

Also apparently only the person you recently messaged turns blue and everyone else stays white

I believe the blue indicates someone in your "favorites" or "frequently contacted".

Same exact thing started happening to me today. Have gotten a few severe weather updates in the past few hours, and now random contact names are blue instead of white. Nearly every time I open the message app, it's different people. I don't get it

Mine is doing the same thing and it seems like it just started doing it - at least I never noticed it before. There is no consistency to it. I can't figure it out.

It disappeared for me now, idk, it's random but when u have it. the blue name apparently goes on who ever you most recently messaged

Mine is now blue as well. Actually all of my message contact are blue, irregardless if they are a favorite or not. This started after an emergency weather alert. My wife has the same exact phone and received the same weather alert, although none of her contact names are in blue.

It seems like a bug whenever the weather alert message pops up.
I found a way to get rid of this bug temporarily: just close the messaging app, open task manager, and tap 'clear memory'. Blue names gone! :D

Thanks, I had one of those severe flash warning things and it got rid of the blue when I deleted it

Ok, so after "clearing" the RAM, the 4th 'thread' from the top and the 4th thread from the bottom are now only blue....just my .02...

...awesome forums here, learning a lot

It is a bug. I received an Amber Alert when mine turned blue. Any kind if emergency alert will make it happen.
Delete the message than reboot.
