Does anybody know why when I use messaging and then back out all the way to the home screen it still shows messaging as a running app in my app monitor? No matter what I try it does this every time and then I have to go to app monitor or task manager to kill that or it just sits there running and using up my battery?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

It's technically always running in the background. Most will do this because the app is sitting in a listening state. The reason for this is because it can then notify you right when a text comes in.

I at least know this is true for ChompSMS (third party text app I use).
