Battery life is significantly worse after the 4.3 installation. Upon checking Battery usage, Messaging is the first app - consuming 30%. Which is even more than Screen. Yet I have not been texting or using the phone. Why would Messaging be using so much battery after the 4.3 upgrade? Are there settings that I should be aware of in Messaging? Thanks

Are you using stock or another messaging app?

Thanks for the replies. Based on your suggestions I will go to Messaging and delete all messages. Then go to Apps and clear Data and Cache for Messaging.

If that doesn't help, it sounds like a factory reset (which I didn't do before 4.3 installed) is the next thing to try.

After a day it looks like battery usage has returned to normal and Messaging is no longer consuming a huge amount of battery power. I deleted all my text messages and then went to Apps and cleared Data and Cache for Messaging, Media Storage and Download Manager and DRM Protected Content Storage.

Thanks again for your help.
