Messenger Pop-up Menu Blank

Has anyone encountered this before? Recently fewer and fewer of my sms conversations would appear in the pop up, until today, when it's totally blank. This is on Google Messages.

What do you mean by the pop up? Do you mean you're not getting notifications of incoming messages with a banner that peeks down? Which phone do you have, and what version of Android is it running?

I mean when you long press the apps home screen icon and get a few action choices, I.e. for the messages app you get the option to start a new conversation, plus the option to quickly jump into some of your recent threads. In my case, most of the slots where my recent chats would be are blank.

This is on my OnePlus 5T running 8.0. App version is 2.9.052.

It probably shows only the threads where you've gotten the most recent replies in. Are there other threads besides the one with Kelly where you've gotten recent replies?

Actually, restarting Nova Launcher did the trick. Woohoo!

Yes, there are several recent chats happening. The issue actually returned soon after my last update. Restarting Nova turned out to be a temporary fix.

Try backing up your Nova settings, then clearing the Nova app cache/data in Settings>Apps​. Open Nova again and restore your backup. Same problem?
