Nah, I doubt they will end up at a landfill. I think most people wont upgrade, and those who will can just resell it. Many people who think vr is still to expensive will buy them just to get vr for cheap.
Quest 2 is still a desent vr, and as metas goal is to get as many people as possible in to vr, it would be dumb for them to have a trade-in program.
