metal bands

Just a follow up to my previous post.

Finally I managed to learn that the correct term is "Quick release bands". It really saves a lot of time and finally I'm beginning to find good replacement bands, just like I want them.

Well I gave the ceramic band another shot this week (way too much rain to deal with a leather band). And while there are minor problems with the fit... I have to say it looks really good. Willing to put up with the quirks of the band for the appearance.

I can't get it on the watch

Just got this one today, from Amazon:

Robot Check

Yes, it's kinda pricey, but I think a good watch deserves a good band. The black of the band is a bit darker than the watch, but I don't know where you're going to find a perfect color match, as the watch is actually a very dark grey.

The fit is nice and snug where the band fits on the watch, to the point that it took me a good thirty minutes to get it attached. You'll need a steady hand and a watch spring tool. If you've never done this sort of thing before, you might think about taking it to a jeweler. He or she, with the right tool and expertise, could probably put it on in a minute or two.

The other nice feature is that the links are added or removed for adjusting by way of little screws, rather than the usual pins. Very easy to fit it to your wrist.

The band feels very substantial and comfortable on my wrist. Fits me much better than the leather band that came with the watch. The arbitrary holes in the leather strap ended up being either too tight or too loose for me.

Do you have any pictures of the band on the watch? I got one the lesser expensive bands on amazon and have to return it due to a defective pin. The band just falls apart. I really like the look of this band even though it is a bit pricey seems to be constructed much better.

Haven't tried posting a pic here before, but here goes...

Yeah.... I said it can be a pain in my original post.

I've gone back to my brown leather one this week.

I realize I'm a few months late to post a response to this quote, but I had ordered this band as well. Loved the matching finish, but ultimately, the longer link lengths made it hard to get it to fit correctly. It was either too tight or too loose. As for fitting on the watch though, mine never fit out of the box. I took measurements, and it turns out, the width of the watch band is slightly too large to fit on the S2 Classic. I can't say that everyone of these has the same problem as it could be there is a large spread in tolerances during manufacturing. That being said, the solution I used to get it on was to get a diamond grinding bit at Harbor Freight and using it with my Dremel tool and just removing a very small amount of material on each side of the band ends where it would interfere with the watch.

The watch face is called Special Edition. It's a Samsung face that comes with the recent firmware update. Looks pretty good, I think, and the best part is that the ambient face has hour marks, not just the hands.

I've been wearing the watch band every day for about three months. No signs of wear, still looks like new, very happy with it.

Hmm I don't have that watch face as an option.

I noticed there is a difference with the S2 Classic and S2 Classic 3g, when it comes to bands. Some will fit the non-3G version but not the 3g one. It has something to do with the extra thickness of the watch and the location of the pin holes. The Milanese loop bands do not fit the 3G version for example. If you look at the way the end of the band is designed it does not have enough clearance for the pins to connect. Even my jeweler could not get it work.
