Metal frame?

looking at the leaked pics, the frame which goes around the device(with power button and all that) of the nexus 5 looks plasticky from the pictures, but could it be metal? would love it for it to be metal? do people think its gna be metal rather than plastic? and it would make sense for it to be metal as plastic is past its due date for android phones now......2014.......the year of solidly built android phones!!!

More than likely not. The nexus is, more than anything else, a dev phone priced as cheaply as possible so that developers can easily have a test device for development. This usually means gimped storage, lack of extra features, limited availability, mediocre camera, and cheapish materials. The fact that normal consumers like us get a devise that we love is merely a by product of the need for cheap development hardware.

This does not of course mean that it will not have a metal frame/body, but the smart money is on no.

I personally don't care if it's metal or plastic or fiberglass or wax paper. If it's for Verizon, I'm getting it and getting a bumper so it can be whatever. Never understood why this is such a big deal to people. I would think 80% of people put cases on their phones so it's irrelevant anyway.

I think the metal would add that bit of class to the nexus line and be a start or guideline for the majority of android phones to be premium built, not that there's nothing wrong with plastic, but metal just adds personality. And if they did put a metal frame on the nexus and it was cheap, that would make a statement, so it may be a tactic too?

I just hope for a good phone. It can be as classless as it wants to be as long as it's a solid device It's all about preference though so I get it.

Yeahh, the metal is no way a dealbreaker, if it performs and does the job well i will get it with or without metal frame, however what i do want is a freshhh UI, from those leaked vids, the UI, from the lock screen, loos the same.....from ICS to jelly bean and now from jelly bean to kitkat........NO WAY, the phone needs to be seriously good in everyother way for me to get it if it still has similar lookin UI

Since I will buy a case to cover it doesn't matter to me if it is plastic or metal.
