MHL MicroUSB to HDMI

So for the GN I need to have an MHL MicroUSB to HDMI cable. Would the regular micro usb to hdmi cables work or does it specifically have to say MHL on it? sorry for noob question.

From my experience, Ive had a few of the Samsung Infuses as replacements. So I have a couple of those cords. My last phone was the Samsung Charge. I just plugged the HDMI cord right in without the MHL adaptor and it worked. But I have the HDMI to USB cord from the Xoom that I kept. Either way, I would assume it works for a normal HDMI cord. I can try it and let you know if you want.

Wouldnt it have to be the MHL adapter since the normal micro to HDMI doesnt have the power hook up like the adapter does?

you can get the MHL adapters on eBay for like $10 or less depending on how hard you search. I managed to pick one up on there, OEM Samsung for $8 shipped. (note it would not work till i plugged the power cable in)
