Micro SD HC card not detected.

I found a pretty new-looking 8 GB Micro SD HC card lying around, but I can't for the life of me get my S7 edge or my laptop to detect it. I have a SanDisk Micro SD HC USB adapter but it's still not being read by the PC. An older regular 2 GB Micro SD card works just fine though.
What could be the issue?

Agreed, sounds like the card went bad for one reason or another. Sorry about your loss.
