I just purchased a 32G micro SD card and as I was downloading all my pics and files on to it from my computer until my faulty USB drive took a crap during the transfer and now the card cannot be read nor formatted in anything I put it in. The Evo says "safe to remove SD card" every time I insert this card. I have read up as much as I could and downloaded numerous programs that format cards, but of course still nothing. As a last push for hope I am asking if anyone knows of any trick to fix this or is it this card a total goner?

Call the manufacturer or the place you bought it, they will usually replace the card for you. thats the only solution i have heard for this situation. Im sorry i wish i could help you with this.

yeah. I figured that. It was an eBay purchase, and of course it was from China so an exchange is probably next to impossible..thank you for your help though :)

You are welcome, actually even from china sometimes they will still do it especially sellers with high ratings.

was it inexpensive?

There are scams going on with SD cards, especially from China. It is usually a smaller sized SD card formatted for the higher size.

When plugging into a device, all seems normal up until you copy files that exceed the physical card size. For example, if it's really a 4gb card, and you copy over 4gb of files on the card it craps out on you. Try reformatting the device and see what happens. Otherwise, best thing you can do is report the seller on ebay?

Same boat

Same thing happened to me with my 16gb card today....bought it 2-3 years ago from who knows where so a return is impossible...i too have tried multiple programs to no avail..i tried researching on dos/terminal commands to force format but just got confused...tomorrow I'm going to try a digital camera to format the card (read somewhere that cameras seem to have a magical touch). My card has had no problems until today when I tried to put movies on my evo. Hopefully someone can help...
