Micro USB cable

Can I get a standard micro usb charging/sync cable from monoprice or other brands? If so what are the correct specs for the Note?

You should be fine with any cable. I've used non-branded cables, Samsung cables, and HTC cables with a Galaxy S II. I always recommend sticking with what came with it, but those are usually more expensive to get.

Of course, you'll always have the outlying cases where a cable can cause problems, but I've never personally experienced any of them.
