microphone 🎤 sensitivity

My watch has issues with mic sensitivity. The audio recorded from the watch is extremely low. In order to launch ok Google from the phone , I have to keep the phone a few inches from my mouth .anyone else notice this?

Had noticed poor response but assumed it was due to the lazy vowels in my Australian accent. Also, I keep getting distracted by my phone responding to ok google instead. Certainly my watch is missing a lot that my phone (Sammy s5) hears.
