Microphone not working

Is anyone having issues with their microphones not working when trying to use them for texting or even Shazaam or Google? The only way I can get it to work is by using the task killer SOMEtimes. Any suggestions as to what to do to fix this? :-\

Are you getting an error message? Does it tell you the microphone isn't currently available, or some other app is using it? Sometimes an app that has permissions for the microphone (which I think is included in the Camera permission) inappropriately doesn't allow other apps to access it. If you have any voice command apps installed other than Google Now, try uninstalling them.

Hm. Interesting. Apparently, it was a NBA team app causing the problem. Odd. I really don't quite understand why apps need permissions for things they don't technically need.

Weird. Did it have Camera permissions? Are you allowed to take a selfie of yourself and create a pic of yourself as an NBA star or something?
