MicroSD: Xoom vs Windows

I live on Windows all day.
When I find a pdf or other doc I'd like to read, I store it to a flash drive, to read later.
Now I have a flash drive that has a microSD slot in it that I can load, then pull out and stick in my Xoom.

Thought I'd be able to read from the files on there, but Xoom (wifi, 3.2.1) either doesn't see the microSD, or sees it but doesn't see any files, instead saying it needs to format the card.

I take it no one put a FAT32 drive format reader on Android, like I have on the ubuntu on my old Aspire.

Got Astro Manager, doesn't help.

How do I get these things onto my Xoom w/o a wifi connection?

I don't have one in my car, and I don't have one at work (paranoiacs for owners) so I have to go all the way home to receive an email with the pdf as an attachment, just to read it?

I've done that a bunch of times by connecting via USB. To me, that is the easiest way - dragging and dropping. Haven't tried a physical card swap yet.

Hope this helps.

A usb cable should have come with your xoom, use that to transfer files to it.

What kind of microSD is it? maybe try formatting it in a different format? Get your important stuff off of it, plug it in and right click on the drive icon in explorer, you'll see the format option.

I don't have a usb drive with an SD slot, but I transfer stuff from my laptop using my microSD all the time (I use an SD to microSD converter).
