Hi all,

Recently upgraded from a note 9 unlocked to a note 10+ unlocked.

Also, I use all the MS apps, did previously on the note 9 also.

When I download files now in Edge they get stored in the edge app and cannot be saved on my SD card.....I used to be able to press and save to device then move it from phone memory to sd card very easily.

Is there something I'm missing or doing wrong or a setting that has to be flipped?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Go to Settings>Apps, select Edge, then Permissions, and see if Storage permission is turned on.

Just to be sure -- you've used a file manager app to look directly in the /Download directory, right? If the files aren't there, then Edge might use its own directory for downloads. You may have to explore a bit to find a user-accessible data directory that Edge uses.

You referring to edge panel ?

B, yes stock file manager from samsung,

mustang, yes edge browser.

any idea where the files get put?

When you're using the file manager, make sure you're using an explore option, not just looking at a Downloads category.

TBH, I'd rather not install Edge on my main phone to test things out -- I can try on one of my secondary devices when I get home.

mustang, yes the my files app is what i use...cannot find it there

B, thanks for trying for me....I've searched both memory locations and cannot find them.....

You'll have to dig in each file there , there should be quite a few populated

Ok, so I said what the heck and installed it on my phone. I tested by downloading an image from Bing Image Search, and it went to the /Download directory.

so....the email I received had a link to shared docs on google drive...opening in edge produced the problem....opening with google drive then downloading it worked fine....suspect the newest chromium edge has some bugs to be addressed, thanks B and Mustang for your help!
